Entangled II: Poetry Reading
June 20 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Manchester Poetry Library and online

Join poets Mark Pajak, Anita Slater, and Domenic Suntrapak for a poetry reading and discussion as they untangle the threads that link their poetry and research at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Mark Pajak’s PhD research explores the question of what poetry does for young lives by working with children in schools, Anita Slater’s practice-based research looks at the concept of guidance in the city, and Domenic Suntrapak researches the relationship between poetry, architecture and urban city planning. In this conversation Mark, Anita and Domenic will reflect on their interest in the social function of poetry, thinking about how poetry interacts with institutions, communities, civic spaces, and even expansive urban cityscapes. As researchers working across the creative and the critical, they will also talk about their play with form, and how formal experiments are shaping their writing and thinking.
ENTANGLED is a PhD showcase which unravels the themes and forms which connect each poet’s work to one another, established by award winning poet and PhD researcher Charlotte Shevchenko Knight.
